Lenawee County Strengths:

The Lenawee Economic Development Corporation helps market Lenawee County. The county has available real estate, a skilled work force, airport ad railroad lines. The County Commissioners need to wok with the LEDC and local governments to attract new businesses.

Good Government:

Good government’s top priority is the welfare of the people. Government officials need to work with the people, research issues and make decisions based on that information.

Three Important Issues:

Alternative Energy; County commissioners need to support current, and encourage new alternative energy businesses

Employment issues: Commissioners needs to continue to build better relationships with county employees and attempt to maintain current staffing levels to continue present levels of service and to allow department heads to manage their own departments.

County Budget: Commissioners need to be mindful of current economic conditions, looking for possible ways to reduce spending and maintain a financial reserve. Commissioners need to look for ways that they can reduce their own budget.

I have studied the commission and questioned many voters in the 7th district as to what they see is needed. I have witnessed closely the strengths and weaknesses of the commission. I have made a commitment to be well informed about the issues of the 7th district and all of Lenawee County. My 34 years of county service would bring value to the commission. My style is to try and work with both fellow commission members and the people I represent, to address the concerns of Lenawee County residents.
